The Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike, has expressed satisfaction, today, with the level and quality of work carried out by the various contractors in PortHarcourt and Obio/Akpor Local
Government Areas of Rivers State.
The Governor, who was loudly cheered and praised by residents of Borikiri,Rumuokuta,Rumukpokwu and Rumuagholu communities during an inspection tour, told news men that he was happy with the level of work in those places.
“ We are quite impressed with the of job executions we have witnessed today. We are maximizing every opportunity the dry season gives us to make sure that the road construction is carried to a level that will make the people happy. You can see that when we went to the various construction sites , the people naturally on their own to identify with Government projects and were jubilating. “ Governor Wike explained.
Governor Wike told news men, that before now New Borikiri road was very bad ,but now “ it is a different thing. We have totally rehabilitated and reconstructed most of the roads in Borikiri.”
Wike was also happy that construction work had already started at the Government Secondary School, Rumuokuta ,because it is a pilot project designed to bring the boarding house system in among state owned schools in Rivers State.
The State Chief Executive explained that the 11 selected state government owned schools are spread across 3 senatorial districts to make the people of those areas feel the positive impact of government.
Governor Wike expressed satisfaction with the various construction companies handling the projects. “But generally, I am happy with what is going on. RCC , MCC and Julius Berger are doing well. Most of the contractors handling the road jobs are doing well. “ He said.
